Normandie
Normandie offers rich historical sites and diverse peaceful landscapes and is ideal for a touring holiday. The city of Rouen was settled by the Celtics, Romans and Viking Norsemen and in 1431, Jeanne d’Arc was burned at the stake here. The Bayeux Tapestry depicting the famous invasion of England in 1066 by William the Conqueror is on display close to the sites of the 1944 Normandy Invasion which led to the liberation of Europe at the end of World War II. To the east lies one of France’s most celebrated sites, Mont-St-Michel. There has been an abbey on the site since the 10th century. Allow plenty of time to explore the Abbey, ramparts and of course the restaurants in the Grande Rue.
