The Rhone-Alpes really does have something to offer everybody. The French Alps with Mont Blanc, the highest peak in Europe is surrounded with ski resorts but even in the summer, the cable cars take you high into the mountains for truly spectacular views and mountain walking. The city of Lyon is France’s second city but the gastronomical capital boasts 2 Roman Amphitheatres, stunning Renaissance architecture and lively restaurants and bars. Wine lovers have a choice of Beaujolais to the north and the Cote du Rhone in the south. Add to that the lakes, sunflower and lavender fields, museums, and the picturesque Rhone Valley and two weeks simply are not enough!
