Aquitaine
This is greatly undervalued region of France and therefore an unexpected treat for visitors. Bordeaux is of course world famous for its wine but the city has a lot to offer and shows off the wealth that this produce has earned over the centuries, the Grand Theatre is particularly impressive. For family holidays the region offers virtually uninterrupted beaches stretch down the Cote d’Argent – the silver coast. There is a string of lakes inland offering fishing and boating.
