Nord Pas de Calais
The northernmost region of France, Nord Pas de Calais offers much more than simply the Channel Crossing routes, there is much to see and do before jumping onto the autoroute. The seaside town of Boulogne-sur-mer with its walled Houte Ville, historic buildings, restaurants an beach is certainly well worth a visit. Further inland, the lively Flemish town of Lille has excellent shops and markets. The town is now the high-tech hub of the north but retains its sense of history, Vieux Lille is a lively concentration of cobbled squares and narrow streets bristling with cafes, restaurants and stylish shops.
